Just a Little Patience

We live in a culture of instant gratification. With the internet, you can download songs and movies instantly to a device. Tap or click a button and you can order almost anything you want from the web directly to your doorstep. It seems like the pace of life continues to move faster and faster.

However, sometimes it takes time to learn something new. I feel that way with musical instruments, and especially with the guitar. Our fingers don't automatically know how to form a chord or play a melody. It takes time to coordinate between strumming and switching between chords. There are subtle nuances to playing that appear only with practice and experience. Patience is needed if you are to succeed at playing guitar. If it was easy, then everyone would be able to play quickly. However, for most aspiring musicians, it takes time to learn a new instrument.

Focus on your goals and try to enjoy the process. Expect frustration and challenges to be there to test you. It's all part of the journey, but in my opinion, it's well worth the effort.
