How to Play E Minor on the Guitar (Free Video Lesson)

E Minor, also known as Em, is another one of those guitar chords you need to know how to play.  It's used in so many songs and the open position chord uses just two fingers! Practice along with the below video!



How to Play E Minor on the Guitar:
  • Place Your Left Middle Finger on the 5th String, 2nd Fret
  • Place Your Left Ring Finger on the 4th String, 2nd Fret
  • Strings 6, 3, 2 and 1 are used this E Minor Chord, but are not fretted - they are called open strings
E Minor is an easy chord to play and sounds great, especially for beginner guitarists. Once you are skilled at with this open position chord, challenge yourself to learn how to play an E Minor barre chord.
